Over view:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Company3 who provide Colour, Finishing and Sound Post-production on many prestigious UK and international productions from their base in Chancery Lane, London. Working as an integral member of the data operations team, supporting our features and longform post-productionn business. 

Responsibilities:

  • Occasionally act as London Data IO point of contact internally, locally and globally (shift and staff availability dependent)
  • Pick up duties from the previous, completing all outstanding work.
  • San management, space, quotas, performance.
  • Project, metadata and media management. Efficient use of facilities and SAN storage, keeping accurate track of project status, archiving, etc.
  • Receive, load and write encrypted client media, with verification on ingest as well as data write/send.
  • Transkode files to internally set instructions.
  • Metadata loading and management.
  • QC
  • Use transfer tools such as Aspera
  • Keep work flowing so that we can release mags for wiping in a timely fashion that meets the needs of the production.
  • Responsible for clear handover at end of shift to following team.
  • Maintaining best practices at all times.
  • Maintaining best practices for content security and client confidentiality.
  • Maintain and contribute the development of processes by keeping up with current trends and techniques.

    • Experience:

  • Experience working as a Data IO technician. Hands-on exposure to data centric practices preferred.
  • Experience of using Unix/ command line, Colorfront OS, Davinci Resolve v17 & Avid
  • Candidate must be familiar with general post-production practices.
  • Experiance of using Microsoft Office Suite, Mediapulse or other Scheduling system

    • Personal Requirements/Skills:

  • Proficient with web applications and portals for job management.
  • Proficient knowledge of Mac and PC computer applications
  • Proficient with Unix/Linux Shell Commands
  • Proficient with Transkoder/OSD and Resolve
  • Knowledge of LTO Tape archiving protocols such as LTFS, TAR and Bru
  • Understanding of a multiple server network
  • Understanding of digital camera formats (Arri, Red, Phantom etc.)
  • Understanding of ALE and EDL files and how they are applied
  • Understanding of framing charts
  • Limited exposure to colour science (LUT applications and various colour spaces
  • Detail oriented problem solver, capable of working well under pressure in a deadline driven, environment.
  • Flexible to work around customer and studio needs; ever changing delivery schedules and enduring long hours during peak periods of business.
