Main duties of the job

Facilities Services provides essential support to all areas of the hospital / healthcare setting. The Facilities Assistant will work as part of a team, contributing to the smooth running of Facilities Services comprising of Catering, Domestic and Portering services. Whilst many of the tasks are generally routine the daily functioning of the service may be unpredictable therefore a flexible approach is essential with some autonomy in the timetabling / prioritising of some tasks.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Good standard of secondary education
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Desirable criteria

  • NVQ level Two in Customer Service
  • NVQ level two in cleaning
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Experience

    Desirable criteria

  • Experience in a similar post or in one of the Facilities Services
  • Experience of cleaning (in a non-domestic situation)
  • Aptitude and Abilities

  • Able to organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or alone and unsupervised
  • Able to demonstrate good communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others

    Essential criteria

  • Role requires constant lifting, pushing and pulling substantial weights for extended periods, long periods of walking and climbing stairs. Post holders must be able to manage this.

  • Full valid current Driving Licence
