Role Specific Responsibilities:
To coordinate professional placements activity; oversee and evaluate a range of systems and processes; working within appropriate quality frameworks to support the delivery of the course and Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) requirements.
Plan and allocate student placements.
To provide advice, guidance and administrative support, adhering to service standards for the placement of students e.g.:
– advising students, staff and employers on placements, processes and procedures.
– supporting placement leads to identify placement opportunities, including contacting potential placement providers and developing new business relationships.
– ensuring placement supervisors, mentors and assessors are trained.
– ensuring that placements have been audited in accordance with course and Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) requirements.
– ensure that placements are utilised effectively to maximise capacity and meet the course requirements.
To act as an initial point of escalation, providing more in-depth advice and support for a diverse range of queries; maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive issues with appropriate tact and diplomacy.
To support the development and operation of administrative systems and record keeping within an agreed framework:
– maintain and create enquiry/data management systems and records, ensuring the consistency and integrity of information.
– retrieve data, collate and produce reports and statistical information to support operational decision making, including information on the planning and allocating of students to placements.
– administer systems of operation; identifying student placement dates and potential placement shortages.
To motivate, lead and mentor staff where required; provide general guidance, coaching and support, developing their skills and knowledge.
To support or lead, where appropriate, specific projects/schemes/ areas of work, and evaluate their impact and effectiveness;
– work closely and collaboratively with the Directorate of Business Engagement, Skills and Employability, supporting the business development and identification of new placement opportunities, sharing intelligence on placement gaps and preferences.
