Principle Software Engineer – Southampton 6 Month Contract £ £ per day (Inside IR35) SC Cleared

We are looking for a Principle Software Engineer to work with customers, clients and suppliers and drive the development of their existing products within the defence industry. You will be leading the day-to-day technical delivery across the full software engineering life cycle, including creating high level designs through to implementation.

My client offers flexibility on hybrid working and ideally would like candidates to work on a 40% on-site, 60% from home split across the month, which can be divided up to your preferences.

My client are a market leading engineering and technology consultancy who work with cutting edge technologies in order to provide the best solution for their customers across the defence space. Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be required to hold an SC Clearance to be considered for this role.

The Key Responsibilities of a Principle Software Engineer:

  • Conduct reviews and research into new products and technologies.
  • Engage with suppliers and user representatives to gather insight into the user’s requirements.
  • Below is a list of Key Skills required for Principle Software Engineer :

  • Experience of the full software engineering life cycle (design, develop, test and deploy).
  • Employment of a variety of development methodologies, including Agile.
  • Experience in Customer-facing roles.
  • Experienced in at least one software development language.
  • An understanding of mobile application development, ideally Android.
