Main duties of the job

The role will co-ordinate the development of plans that support a comprehensive system of care including primary, community, secondary and tertiary services and impact upon the total health expenditure of North Wales of approximately £1.8bn.

This is a senior professional role within the organisation and a key member of the Planning Team, providing direct support, including deputising in their absence, to the Assistant Director Health Strategy.

The role will work closely as part of the wider department of Transformation, Strategic Planning and Commissioning, along with staff within Corporate Teams, Integrated Health Communities and pan-North Wales services, to ensure an integrated approach to the development and the embedding of planning arrangements across the organization.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • Project / planning management qualification or extensive experience
  • Desirable criteria

  • Diploma in Planning or willingness to undertake this or a similar Planning qualification
  • Knowledge and experience

    Essential criteria

  • Experience of developing robust corporate plans with clear objectives and actions.
  • Experience of building strong relationships and communicating with all levels of professional staff
  • Experience of producing reports and briefings for executives and senior managers
  • Experience of project implementation and monitoring
  • Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of NHS Wales planning framework; Knowledge and understanding of NHS Wales
  • Experience of managing planning and monitoring systems
