    Established in , Dialogue School Counselling is a BACP accredited school counselling service covering Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex and Surrey. Dialogue has built an excellent reputation with schools, professionals and commissioners and the service has developed and expanded over the years.     The Role

    We are looking for a  part-time (9 hours per week/term-time only with the possibility of the hours increasing) qualified counsellor on a fixed-term contract until 31 August (with the likelihood of extension)  with experience of working with school age children to join our team and deliver the school counselling service at Ratton School in Eastbourne.  In this role, you will be based on site providing an ethical, professional counselling service at Ratton School.  You will establish good professional working relationships with key school staff. This will include discussion of referrals, managing a session timetable within the school day and agreeing a process for students coming to and from sessions. In addition, you will be required to undertake assessment and counselling sessions, complete all associated admin and attend regular clinical supervision and line management meetings.

    Your expected working pattern will be across Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 

    Who You Are

    You will have a counselling or psychotherapy qualification minimum Level 4, (Level 6 is desirable) and be registered or accredited with BACP or an equivalent professional body such as HCPC, UKCP. You will also have two years of post qualifying experience in individual counselling or therapy with children and or young people . Ideally, you will have experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with risk issues, preferably in a school setting. The postholder will have a keen interest in and experience of working with young people of secondary age. You will have a professional, flexible attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage your time well. In addition, you will have a sound understanding of child protection and vulnerable adult safeguarding issues, policies and procedures.
