Climate17 are partnered with a fast growing, vertically integrated renewable energy company, focused on developing large-scale solar farms and BESS projects.

They are a dynamic and entrepreneurial company, comprising of a growing team of highly experienced industry experts.

They have a significant pipeline closing in on 10GW across c.60 live projects throughout the UK.

Due to significant growth, they currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Quantity Surveyor to join their project delivery team.

Initially focused on grid connection assets, there is possibility for the scope of this role to expand to include solar assets moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Cost assessment of 11 kV – 400 kV grid connection schemes as they progress from early development through detailed design, providing budget costs for equipment and construction
  • Cost analysis of constructed grid connection schemes
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers of all key components for grid connection schemes to understand trends in pricing, availability, and new technologies
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key contractors for grid connection schemes to understand trends in pricing, equipment availability, and changing construction methods
  • Developing and maintaining costing tools to be used to assess project viability and for benchmarking quoted contractor and supplier costs
  • Becoming a key contributor to project development and delivery stage gate process to ensure the company maintain a record of high quality and cost competitive interconnection assets
  • Willingness to expand scope to include EPC construction components and contractors, should the need arise

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) or similar setting
  • Self-starter willing to work within a small and agile team
  • Relationships with global equipment suppliers and UK-based ICP construction contractors
  • RIICS Chartership
  • Commercial and technical understanding of grid connection projects

Location: London + travel as required
