The Role:

The Head of Inclusion and Culture, EMEA is a key member of the People & Culture Management Team for Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA), responsible for leading, developing, implementing and promoting the strategies for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) and for Social Impact (volunteering, fundraising, charitable initiatives, sustainability).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and specialist knowledge input to the development and design of the EMEA DE&I and Social Impact strategy.
  • Play a key role in developing, drafting, implementing and updating social impact, community support and sustainability policies and procedures to develop a cohesive EMEA-wide strategy and approach to responsible business.
  • Act as the senior reference point for all DE&I and Social Impact issues across the EMEA offices helping to guide and support their local practices.
  • Play a key role with our Enterprise and Priority clients in helping to ensure they understand our DE&I and Social Impact credentials. Acting as the main point of contact to the client relationship managers and client relationships partners, working directly with clients to create and build collaboration opportunities.
  • DE&I

  • Monitor, analyse and report on EMEA DE&I statistics and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Lead the ongoing design, management and roll out of a number of strategic DE&I initiatives focussing on gender, race and ethnicity, disability, mental health, LGBTIQ+, social mobility, and working parents and working carers.
  • Work closely with the EMEA HR team and wider business to ensure that DE&I matters are embedded into all HR and business processes, policy development, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work with HR to ensure the firm remains compliant with legislation and update policies as required.
  • Assist with global DE&I projects including contributing content for reports for the Global Executive Committee and involvement in global campaigns and initiatives.
  • Social Impact

  • Assist with global projects including the leading of EMEA’s contribution to the annual Global Charitable Initiative
  • Monitor, analyse and report on key social impact statistics including gift in kind values, volunteering hours and business services pro bono support and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Work with senior management to demonstrate the business case and continually inform business strategy, demonstrating the value of responsible business within the firm’s decision making process
  • Review and prepare documentation for internal and external, audits and supplier questionnaires in line with reporting requirements; regulatory and voluntary
  • External relationships

  • Liaise with government, community groups, corporate responsibility organisations/networks and other firms to develop and identify best practice and policy in DE&I and social impact work.
  • Manage and oversee the firm’s portfolio of charitable partners included strategic charitable partner.
  • Represent the practice on appropriate government, community, DE&I and Social Impact networks and committees.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with appropriate non-profit and public interest organisations and DE&I suppliers.
  • Work with the Marketing & Business Development and Communications teams to promote the practice’s DE&I and Social Impact activities, award nominations and directory submissions.
  • Work with other responsible business leads to create a cohesive external narrative of responsible business to key external stakeholders.
  • Internal and external communications

  • Review and prepare documentation for internal and external audits and supplier questionnaires in line with reporting requirements; regulatory and voluntary.
  • Produce and support the creation of high quality reports for senior management and the wider business including annual responsible business report.
  • Design and deliver DE&I and Social Impact training to stakeholders across the firm.
  • Liaise with PR team in drafting award submissions, responding to press enquiries and promoting the firm’s DE&I and Social impact work through social channels.
  • Writing and signing off content for bids, pitches, awards and submissions.
  • Skills and Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of, and experience at a strategic level in, DE&I and Social Impact (volunteering, fundraising, charitable initiatives, sustainability) in a professional services, financial services, legal services, corporate or blue chip environment.
  • Considerable experience in project management and running a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Able to think strategically about opportunities and projects.
  • Capable of bringing a commercial eye to proposals and projects.
  • Good understanding of broader HR issues and legislation across EMEA.
  • Ability to deal confidently with senior stakeholders and influence senior decision-makers.
