Our Global Commercial Strategy team is responsible for leading the development of Elsevier’s Clinical Solutions global market strategy and opportunity roadmap. As a team, we are responsible for aligning priorities across teams in all geographies we serve (spread across more than 50 countries). We take a long-term strategic view on how to achieve success and deliver the greatest value for the customers that we serve. This newly formed team works with stakeholder groups such as Sales, Product, Digital Content, Informatics and Technology. We also serve as the key interface for local Commercial Execution teams to support our overall goals. About the Role

This role focusses specifically on our digital clinician reference and point of care tools. As the Senior Commercial Manager, you will drive the global commercial strategy and prioritization roadmap for this product set. You will identify and size opportunities for growth and new markets. You will contribute towards achieving our financial targets with thoughtful analysis and in-depth market knowledge. And finally, you will work with the respective functional leaders mentioned above in global geographies to ensure a systematic and aligned approach to our market plan. In this role you will report to the VP of Global Commercial Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Driving the global commercial strategy development process and execution across the various markets we serve using quantitative and qualitative data
  • Defining relevant markets, market sizing and penetration rates for the portfolio of products
  • Ensuring effective sharing of our global commercial strategy across all team members
  • Building relationships with global go-to-market teams to communicate opportunities and prioritization outcomes
  • Leveraging analytics and other insights to better understand customer and market needs
  • Developing in depth knowledge on competing products/competitive strategies of other players in the market
  • Identifying potential partnership and/or acquisition targets that would support the overall portfolio strategy growth
  • Working closely with the product and technology organizations on prioritization and roadmaps and as a vehicle for customer feedback
  • Presenting strategies and plans in a thoughtful, interactive, and professional manner to an audience that includes senior leadership
  • Interacting with other companies in the industry domain to understand market dynamic and forge partnerships

Requirements

  • Solid experience in a strategic or commercial role in healthcare
  • In-depth understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Proven track record in directly supporting revenue growth for a portfolio of products
  • Experience in designing and executing successful commercial, business development or consulting activities
  • Strong analytical capabilities related to market segmentation, commercial opportunity assessment, and competitive analysis
  • Creative and pragmatic thinking to engage with end users and product champions
  • Strong communication skills and experience in comfortably operating and influencing at various organizational levels
  • Project and time management skills with an ability to set and maintain priorities in a multi-task environment
  • Ability to bring energy and enthusiasm and foster effective teams
  • Experience in working in cross-functional teams or matrixed organizations
