Main duties of the job

You will be responsible to providing phlebotomy to patients in their own homes/clinics under the guidance of the Community nursing/Community Hospital team but without direct supervision. 

As a phlebotomist, you will take blood samples from patients which are examined in a laboratory and the results can be used to quickly diagnose diseases and conditions. When taking blood, you have to be careful that you. don’t harm the patient. don’t disturb any nursing care that the patient is receiving.

Additional Working Pattern: 15 hours. Flexible hours over 5 days Monday-Friday

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria

  • Relevant level 2 qualification (NVQ / QCF certificate of care / apprenticeship ) or equivalent
  • Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • EXPERIENCE
