The Clinical Lead for Specialist Weight Management will be instrumental in driving the Dietetic service forwards across both Tier 3 and Tier 4 Specialist Weight Management MDT services at UHCW. This is an expanding team which has recently attracted additional funding to support innovative ways of working to manage the high demand. The Clinical Lead will need to have strong clinical knowledge and excellent leadership skills. The Clinical Lead will be an integral part of the MDT, driving the Dietetic elements of the service and utilising excellent communication skills to maintain strong links with all professionals working within the service and support teams.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly specialist and expert Dietitian in the Specialist Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery (Tier 3 and Tier 4) to lead innovations and service developments in the Dietetic Specialist Weight Management Team.

This post will deliver on planned innovations to the service as well as the recovery of waiting lists. You will continue to review, develop and implement clinical guidelines, patient pathways and support training and upskilling of new staff.

Up to date, recent and comprehensive experience in this clinical area is essential to support the team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Delivery of performance of the SWM Dietetic service against financial, trust and group priorities and targets in collaboration with the Dietetic service manager and team operational leads.

Supporting the development and delivery of the clinical governance programme and working alongside senior nursing and other AHP colleagues on quality initiatives

Responsible for the local interpretation and application of clinical and professional policies.

Key link with local universities for the for the strategic management of pre-registration placement education
