Are you AAT qualified and looking for the next role to continue your career, look no further Robert Half are working with a Chartered Accounting Firm in Hampshire find a Trainee Chartered Accountant or Trainee Certified Accountant with a qualification in ACCA being the overall objective.

As part of achieving your ACCA you will be responsible for gaining the relevant technical knowledge and experience required to be a qualified chartered accountant or chartered certified accountant. Over a period the ACCA Trainee Chartered Accountant will experience varied, and increasingly more responsible, accounting, tax, business advisory and auditing activities, in the office and on-site at clients, under the supervision of more senior staff.

Appropriate support for the accounting qualification will be provided and the ACCA Trainee Chartered Accountant is expected to give their commitment to meeting course deadlines and putting in sufficient hours of study to pass the exams.

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake the accounting, tax, business advisory and auditing work as determined by the partners and the managers.
  • Production of final accounts, audit testing, audit planning, and corporate tax computations.
  • The Trainee is likely to be producing draft final accounts and running their own small audits including managing review points by the end of the first year.
  • To build rapport with clients whilst on site, in the office or during verbal/written communication ensuring that the firm’s expectations of professional behaviour are met.
  • To have other contact with clients by telephone, email or letter as requested by the Accounts & Audit Manager and ensuring that the content of emails and letters are cleared by the Manager before dispatch.
  • To ensure that the studying obligations are met. This includes attending courses, sticking rigidly to the study programme, submitting course work on time, and thoroughly revising before exams. Our expectation being that all the exams would be passed.
  • To undertake any ad hoc projects as requested by the partners.

The ACCA Trainee Chartered Accountant must have the academic ability to cope with the demands of combining work and study and this is likely to be demonstrated by a sound educational background. ACCA trainees should have been educated to A Level or equivalent and achieved good grades. Reasonable levels of numeracy and literacy are essential. The ACCA Trainee needs to be organised and able to plan their own time to ensure that the study requirements are met. Within the office it is also important to demonstrate sound time management and planning skills, as these are crucial in the work of an accountant.

The ACCA Trainee also needs to be self-motivated, enjoy seeing a task through to completion and have a genuine interest in figures, problem solving and financial matters. They should be professional with very good interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary

up to £35000 (depending on experience)
