In this role, you will:
Lead with the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of internal control documentation.
Research, analyze and perform gap analysis activities as required and have a solid background in conducting needs analysis for moderately complex to complex problems and projects.
Support risk calls with Stakeholders and Leaders
Collaborate with the management team and LOB risk stakeholders in preparing and consolidating artifacts for the risk calls
Review and assess process compliance and make recommendations for adherence or identify program risks
Lead the development and execution of monitoring activities to evaluate the performance of internal control within Privacy Utility.
Lead the coordination, preparation, and facilitation of control evaluations, testing activities, and other examinations/inquiries from all lines of defense.
Directly support the development and maintenance of a robust internal control program through quality documentation and supporting artifacts to ensure adherence to corporate policies and standards
Actively manage identified issue activities in compliance with the Issue Management Policy and related procedures; identification, pre-vetting, tollgate activities, remediation activities, issue summary memo compilation including all related artifacts.
Provide support in management of relationships with cross functional business partners to influence an effective implementation of the Privacy Utility policies, processes, controls; report / escalate any non-compliance concerns
Collaborate with Privacy Utility teams to enhance and strengthen internal controls in conjunction with the Privacy Utility policies and procedures
Perform regular reviews of the policies and business process procedure changes
Actively participate in Privacy Utility initiatives as directed to ensure strong control considerations and successful SHRP issue remediation
Expertly drive the completion of enterprise assessments such as Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment (ERIA) by collaborating closely with other functional leads, process owners, and front-line Control Management partners
Monitor privacy-related issues across the enterprise for emerging trends and themes
Influence, guide, and support less experienced peers within the group on risk and control matters.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Management Consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
CIPP Certified
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Deep experience and subject matter expertise in risk assessment and control development.
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into actionable remediation plans
Proven ability to identify business risks and drive internal control improvements to mitigate such risk
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of the Privacy Utility
Ability to develop strategies to support assigned functional area considering impacts and risks, both upward and downward, to other functional areas inside and outside of the organizational team
Solid critical thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Ability to effectively assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes
Enterprise risk experience
Experience with regulations and laws affecting the Privacy Utility, including, but not limited to: Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA 501b), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Reg P and CCPA.
Experience in multiple areas of operational risk management, including regulatory compliance, financial crimes risk, conduct management risk and risk related to consumer protections and general banking regulations
Strong conflict management skills that lead to increased collaboration and engagement in challenging situations
Working knowledge and understanding of the Issue Management Policy and related procedures, Internal Control Policy and the related processes, Risk and Control Self-Assessment Policy and related procedures.
Working knowledge of the Shared Risk Platform
Experience in risk assessment and control development
Experience and strong track record of success in developing and executing control-related initiatives within a dynamic, complex, and highly regulated operating environment
Relevant professional certification(s) on audit, risk management, information security and/or privacy is highly desirable but not required
