Reporting to the Campus Security Duty Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for the delivery of customer focused security service that priorities the safety of staff, students, residents, visitors and the security of University buildings and assets, enhancing the customer experience.

The role holder will provide a comprehensive security service for all campus users and property of the University, with daily contact with our customer base, with the aim of ensuring a welcoming, safe, and secure campus by being proactive, approachable, supportive vigilant and visible.

About You:

You will be an enthusiastic, skilled, highly motivated individual with considerable front line experience of working within a customer facing organisation. You will have experience of working in teams that deliver effective solutions and which provide high levels of customer service.

Although the post is security related, we are not necessarily seeking individuals with experience in the sector, our preference being to employ someone with the right customer ethos and experience of working within teams delivering first class customer care.

One of the most important roles this post incorporates is that of first responder to safety and welfare related incidents and as such we are looking for an individual who is calm under pressure, caring and compassionate.

Duration of role: This is a permanent position.

Working Pattern:

Shift Pattern of rotating 12-hour shifts working 4 on and 4 off (days and nights)

There is a requirement to work weekends, days, nights, and bank holidays as scheduled.

Pay and allowances:

This role attracts a shift allowance in the region of £6,298.

In addition, the role attracts additional pay which reflects the shift working patterns in the region of £1,870 to £2,013
