Your new role

Your new role as the Accounts Assistant, you will use your excellent organisational skills and confidence to assist in the accounting functions of the Company. You will provide high level support to the Finance Manager and carries responsibility for effective and accurate reporting and helping to ensuring the Management Accounts are produced accurately in a timely fashion.

What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position you will need to have some experience doing a lot of the things below.

Sales and Purchase Ledger

  • Ensure all jobs invoiced accurately and in a timely nature according to sales forecast
  • Manage the accruals for all POs not invoiced
  • Revalue according to FX when necessary
  • Complete all credit checks via CreditSafe when requested
  • Code and post all POs into accounting system ensuring regularly up to date
  • Match invoices to POs and post into the accounting system
  • Reconcile Supplier statements
  • Complete weekly payment runs and remittances
  • Bank Reconciliations

    • Staff expenses

  • Process company card and other staff expenses, monthly
  • Maintain petty cash accurately
  • Deputise for payroll and pension schemes as required

    • Management Accounts – Monthly

  • Assist in the preparation and inputting of the revenue and cost recognition and WIP
  • Assist the preparation of the deferral and accrual of revenue and COS
  • Assist in recording of the accruals & prepayments
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in identifying any variances and completing analysis on request

    • Fixed Assets

  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of the fixed asset register
  • Assist in the completion of the depreciation journals including disposal and profit/loss actuals and forecasted
