About the Role

In this role you will have the opportunity to design, deliver and facilitate the strategy process and also operational planning for PFG, owning the documenting of the PFG business plan, identification and tracking of key measures and supporting the creation of the action plans that will underpin the key strategic developments that will drive forward the strategic development of PFG. The role will also be responsible for the identification and development of new propositions to broaden the products and services that PFG offers to UK consumers.

Hybrid working is available in this role. We ask that you attend the office 1-2 days per week.
This role could be based in any of our four locations; Bradford, London, Petersfield or Chatham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, delivery and facilitation of PFG Strategic planning process, aligning and collaborating with all key stakeholders in relation to the approach and agreed strategic objectives, development and production of inputs and the facilitation and delivery of required outputs that enables a clear strategy to be articulated and stakeholder outcomes to be defined and quantified, including the strategic priorities and associated key measures of success for PFG.
  • In support of the PFG Strategic Planning process, provide regular updates to PFG ExCo and Board to ensure clarity on progress versus deliverables, escalation of any emerging issues and/or risks for resolution, enable management of expectations and alignment to expected outputs from the planning process.
  • Facilitate the development of the PFG Strategic plan, leading the documenting of the strategic plan collaborating with ExCo and SLT colleagues, ensuring it meets and reflects the required policies and standards and needs of all stakeholders, including PFG ExCo, Board and Regulatory plan submissions.
  • In conjunction with PFG ExCo and other senior business SMEs, facilitate the identification of the key developments that will underpin the realisation of the PFG strategy.
  • Linked to the above, collaborate with ExCo sponsors and senior business SMEs to support the creation of business cases, fully outlining details of the key developments, how they are aligned to the PFG strategic priorities and stakeholder KPIs/PFG key measures of success, working with Finance and other key stakeholders to produce supporting financial appraisals to enable their prioritisation via agreed 1PFG governance including PFG Transformation Executive Committee.
  • Design and gain ExCo agreement to approach to operational planning and reporting, facilitating the resulting development of the PFG operating plan, collaborating with deliverable owners to identify and track critical path actions and the co-ordination of the resulting progress reporting to be provided to PFG CEO and ExCo including the surfacing of
  • Provide ongoing strategic support to the Group and Divisional ExCos and their teams on strategic issues and assist them with strategic problem solving and stakeholder management.
  • Skills and Experience About You

    We would like you to have skills and experience in some of the following:

  • Extensive experience in UK Financial Services.
  • Extensive experience in successfully leading strategic and operational planning from ideation through to benefits realisation.
  • Strong experience in leadership roles achieving strong levels of employee engagement.
  • Experience in the identification, analysis and assessment of growth opportunities, including new markets and customer segments.
  • Experience in developing and gaining key stakeholder support to key strategic measures and the embedding of them within business delivery.
  • Experience of being a key influencer and contributor to internal and external communications that secure the buy in and support to strategic priorities and ambitions.
  • Experience of preparing materials to support the strategic planning process and supporting senior stakeholders in the preparation of strategic plans.
  • Experience in the use of planning and reporting tools.
  • PC Literacy to include significant experience in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Desirable
