About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Strategy engine room, working with highly talented team members, senior management and colleagues from across PFG in finding the solutions to the strategic opportunities that will enable PFG to put more UK consumers on the path to better everyday living. Being curious about what the future may hold and how it could affect c.15 million consumers in the UK will be core part of this role.

Hybrid working is available in this role. We ask that you attend the office 1-2 days per week.

This role could be based in any of our four locations; Bradford, London, Petersfield or Chatham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and production of all research and insight requests including materials required to support the PFG Board, Board Committees, ExCo, Commercial Executive Committee and Product Divisions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of horizon Scanning and trend analysis, capturing and building content, enabling the assessment of the potential impacts of medium to longer political, environmental, societal, technological and consumer developments, undertaking deeper analysis/assessment as required.
  • Undertake diagnosis of the external environment to define market size and assess the strategic opportunities and threats, providing analytical insights to support the strategic planning process.
  • Support the development and delivery of primary and secondary customer research and insight, capturing business requirements, managing internal and external research sources, ensuring production and delivery of the required outputs that enable timely and effective business decision making based on the insights created.
  • Undertake and maintain, competitor benchmarking, including the development and tracking of key comparative measures and SWOT analysis of PFG versus key competitors and market developments, providing regular and timely updates to PFG ExCo and Product Line Management Teams.
  • As required, assist stakeholders with the design and execution of strategic initiatives and help develop ongoing monitoring to ensure the strategy meets its objectives and to support the Group meet its overall goals.
  • Provide strategic, commercial and/or analytical support to deliver change within the Group, supporting business reviews when required in order to model future options for the business and provide input into recommendations for future strategy.
  • Support the research and insight in relation non-organic opportunities including due diligence and initial assessments of potential acquisition opportunities in relation to the external market, key competitors and potential synergies, and production of associated materials as required.
  • Skills and Experience About You

    We would like you to have skills and experience in some of the following:

  • Extensive experience in UK Financial Services.
  • Strong experience in conducting and synthesising primary and secondary research.
  • Experience in the analysis and assessment of growth opportunities, including new markets and customer segments.
  • Experience of developing and delivering customer, competitor and markets insights to support business decision making at Executive and Board level.
  • PC Literacy to include significant experience in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Desirable

  • Willing to study towards a relevant professional qualification (CIMA/MRS/MBA).
  • Experience of preparing materials to support the strategic planning process.
  • Experience in due diligence of M&A opportunities.
