ERM (Environmental Resources Management) is currently seeking a dedicated professional with experience in a business facing advisory role to become a Lead HR Business Partner to one of our Consulting teams. Ideally this role will be based from London or Southampton, however, we are also open for this role to be based from any of our UK offices.
The ideal individual will have a collaborative and positive approach.
This role will require occasional travel to other ERM offices across the UK.
Responsible for a range of HR related tasks to include:
Working within a professional and collaborative team, accountabilities include:
Assist the Partners and HRD in driving internal HR process improvement
Support the HRD with policy development and implementation
Support the development, implementation and delivery of the Business Unit People Plan (including Employee Survey)
Support with Business Unit wide and Global/Regional People Initiatives/projects (Spans and layers, career mapping,)
Build and manage relations with all internal and external stakeholders
Be the Subject matter expert on all employee relations issues, including capability, absence management, health, redundancy, to ensure successful and timely resolution and mitigation of risk.
Coach line managers to have effective conversations, work with TLs to create/maintain a high performance culture
Work collaboratively with Team Leads to understand talent, skills, capability to support succession planning.
Regularly meet with Team Leads, and where appropriate other Partners, to discuss team and individual performance and use insights, both in terms of knowledge and metrics, to offer HR solutions and make recommendations for change
Provide relevant MI Data to the Business, conducting analysis and offering insights to suggest improvements
Support the business with engagement, wellbeing and diversity initiatives
Engage with and provide support to Staff and Line Managers on ERM processes and BAU initiatives e.g. Mid year review, Year End review, Salary and Bonus Reviews, leading discussions and guiding managers.
Develop learning and development initiatives in line with Group and Business Unit strategy – conducting training needs analysis and delivering learning and development initiatives in line with the L&D strategy.
Workforce planning and resourcing: understand the recruitment pipeline, aligning resourcing needs with Business Unit needs, taking into account succession and talent pipelines, capability building, redundancy planning etc)
Conduct exit interviews where appropriate, analysing feedback and any actions that need to be addressed, look for opportunities to improve internal processes/services and work with the appropriate people to implement these changes.
Support job evaluations and/or salary benchmarking ensuring consistency across the organisation and understanding the external market.
Providing advice and guidance to Line Managers and staff regarding HR policies, programmes and processes
Travel will be required
Skills and experience
You must have gained the above HR generalist experience within a professional and commercial organisation.
You should also be self confident, enthusiastic and a self-motivating go getter. You will have experience in mentoring and supporting managers or staff in achieving optimum performance.
You will have a proactive and positive attitude as you will be involved with their continuous improvement agenda.
In addition, a pragmatic and commercial approach will be required to drive real value
Demonstrate commerciality and a strong knowledge of current UK employment law, procedures and processes, with a good understanding of key trends in the HR market
Demonstrate strong listening, communication, organisational and prioritisation skills, excellent attention to detail, adaptability and flexibility
Be a catalyst for change, using influence and judgement to drive business performance and results
Good data analysis and reporting skills
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure and a ‘can do’ attitude
