Supply Chain Apprentice – Level 3

Summary of the Apprenticeship role

As a Supply Chain Apprentice within our Procurement Department, you will be enrolled on the Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship program.

You will complete an 18-month Level 3 apprenticeship and will study with our external training provider, completing a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence within the program to achieve the Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Chain Operations.

The main purpose of your role will be to provide administrative support and assistance to the Procurement Department. You will be responsible for raising purchase orders for materials required to support the production plan, using approved suppliers to agreed specifications and provide an effective purchase order service to the Cramlington site.

Our normal working hours are Monday-Friday 37 hours per week.

This is a great opportunity to come and join the Sterling team, as we significantly grow the business where you will gain the knowledge, skills and experience to be a competent Purchasing Assistant within our Procurement Department.

Requirements for the role

  • Must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Must be prepared to follow a course of study to gain a formal qualification.
  • Be competent with IT systems including MS Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be a self-starter with a good eye for detail.
  • Must have good organisation and communication skills.
  • Able to work individually as well as part of a team.
