Guys and St Thomas is among the UKs busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) @ GSTT

x2 Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) roles; x1 full time substantive post and x1 12 month maternity cover.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for x2 experienced and committed band 7 CNS’s to work within the Fracture Liaison Service at Guys & St Thomass NHS foundation Trust.

FLS sits within the Ageing & Health directorate and comprises of a consultant geriatrician who provides regular clinical supervision, two clinical nurse specialists, an administrator and service manager. Your line manager support will come from the lead CNS of the POPS Team which also sits within the directorate of Ageing & Health.

FLS primarily aims to proactively identify patients presenting to GSTT services who have experienced a fragility fracture, investigate for underlying osteoporosis followed by initiating a personalised treatment plan and follow-up if required. Osteoporosis is common in older females but is increasingly prevalent in younger patients and males making our patient group a diverse community.

The post holder will work as a member of the FLS team within Ageing & Health.

Screening

Attend daily trauma meeting, screen fracture clinic attendees, screen inpatients on AAW, MSAU and elderly care wards.

  • Case-find at-risk patients and invite to bone health clinic
  • Weekly review of radiology reports to identify incidental fractures
