People Transformation Lead

Our Change Management Centre (CMC) of Excellence team was created to spearhead this transformation programme and delivers management and support throughout the entire lifecycle of strategic investment projects. To achieve this, we are looking to enhance our organic transformation team with high performing People Transformation Leads to lead on a variety of exciting and significant transformation projects that will help shape the Audit practice for the future.

In the role, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of people transformation projects and managing the project team to deliver successful outcomes and benefits. You also will oversee project governance requirements, and the design of project and process workshops, as required. The role will challenge the ‘as-is’ model and ultimately lead the design of the future delivery model to meet the needs of the Audit People Strategy. The opportunities with this role are broad and significant; the people transformation programme covers a broad range of activities, and you will need to be comfortable working across all areas of the business, including with senior leaders across the UK firm .

The role will report directly to the Transformation Director and Head of People, Audit.

The People Transformation Lead will be responsible for developing and delivering change to drive improvement in how we drive talent development, provide opportunities for long term, varied careers within KPMG Audit and how we recognise and reward our talented colleagues. The role holder will be working as part of broader People Transformation team to support achievement of our Audit People Strategy. Responsibilities will include;

  • Working closely with project sponsors, business leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and project teams to lead transformation projects to ensure that business change opportunities are identified, assessed, planned, monitored, and delivered to optimise benefits.
  • Designing and delivering people change projects across a range of areas, including Organisational Design & Development, Talent & Leadership Development, Recruitment, Reward & Recognition
  • Ensuring that the project(s) meets all predefined success criteria and governance requirements.
  • Ensuring the target policy, procedures, and practices in scope of the project are fully documented in line with standard KPMG practices.
  • Designing, leading and facilitating project design workshops ( policy, business requirements, process, operating model etc.).
  • Designing and maintaining project plans and other project artefacts as required with liaison with the CMC Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Attending/chairing project Steering Group and Working Groups where relevant.
  • Providing Audit leadership with regular project updates as well as timely escalation of key risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions as appropriate.
  • Sourcing internal and external expertise as required to support delivery
  • Oversee transition of programme deliverables into BAU environment.
  • Ensuring the effective and timely communication of activities and progress to all impacted stakeholders.

  • Experience and Knowledge Requirements

    The People Transformation Lead role is ideal for someone who wants to take their experience of developing and delivering people change programmes to the next level. Your background may be in HR roles having designed and delivered transformation and change or you may have a pure focus on people change and transformation. Either way, we are seeking someone who can demonstrate success in shaping and delivering change across people related activities and understands the strong programme and stakeholder management required to deliver effectively. Key experience and knowledge requirements:

  • Experience leading the implementation of end-to-end business transformation / people projects and associated teams within large and complex organisations using different project management methodologies. (E)
  • Experience of working within a systematic project environment, , Prince 2 &/or Lean projects. (D)
  • Have an in-depth understanding of change management methodologies and associated tools and templates (E)
  • Experience supporting the delivery of quality improvement initiatives. (D)
  • Target Operating Model design and implementation. (D)
  • Evidence of designing, leading and facilitating process design workshops. (D)
  • Proven experience of managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to influence across all levels both within and outside of an organisation (E)
  • Proven ability to use technology to communicate effectively across a range of platforms (E)
  • IT literate with strong knowledge and experience of MS Office tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). (D)
  • Extensive experience within People and Change / HR transformation programme management (E)
