KPMG is a global organization of independent professional services firms providing Audit, Tax and Advisory services. We operate in 144 countries, have more than 220,000 people working in member firms around the world.

KPMG International acts as a coordinating entity, carrying out business activities for the benefit of KPMG firms. More than 2,500 talented colleagues make up the KPMG International team, with a focus on ensuring global consistency and providing expertise to support member firms in the achievement of KPMG’s Trust and Growth ambition. KPMG International is comprised of a number of high-performing global teams, including: Global Advisory, Global Audit, Global Clients & Markets, Global Corporate Affairs, Global People, Global Quality and Risk Management, Global Tax & Legal, Global Technology and Knowledge, the International Office of General Counsel, and the Office of Chief Administrative Officer. Working together, our global team is changing the way our business operates, delivering value to our member firms and driving positive change in the communities we serve.

About the team

The Our Impact Plan (OIP) team is KPMG’s internal ESG commitments and is driven by KPMG’s Global Corporate Affairs function which supports KPMG’s ambition to be the most trusted and trustworthy professional services firm. In Our Impact Plan (last update published in March 2022) we highlighted our commitment to support education and lifelong learning and explained we are setting an impact focused goal on which we will track, measure and report. The OIP team works to inspire, influence and equip KPMG firms and functions to align and execute against our commitments. It initiates research to ensure strategy is informed by data insights, builds internal and external collaborations for delivery, drives implementation, identifies and propagates best practices, develops results frameworks, analyses performance, and catalyses continuous improvement.

Role Summary

The Senior Manager of Societal Impact will play a pivotal role in KPMG’s internal ESG agenda focusing on our Economic Empowerment commitment. KPMG has made a commitment to economically empower 10M under privileged youths by 2030. We refer to this commitment as 10×30. To execute on this commitment the Senior Manager must partner with NGOs such as Enactus, Junior Achievement and UNESCO to define strategies and drive these stakeholders to collaborate on key initiatives to help KPMG meet our commitments. They must work with our network of member firms to focus our internal societal outreach strategies as well as we will not reach our goal of 10M without aligning our network of member firms. This would also include collaborating with stakeholders within the KPMG network to design a flagship initiative and gain consensus in go forward strategies.

The Senior Manager would also determine our KPMG pro bono strategy inclusive of working with technology partners on tools to collect pro-bono active across the network for reporting purposes.

Building on the above the Senior Manager would also be responsible for designing and executing on our KPMG Disaster Relief Protocol being proactive about activating these processes if a situation arise where relief is required.

All of the above requires the ability to create strategies, develop roubust processes and plans and most importantly execute on those agreed plans and of course critical to success is the ability to define and measure impact metrics for reporting and driving momentum.
