Job Details
We’re currently recruiting for a Demand Planning Analyst to support the timely and flawless execution of the monthly demand planning process for our global Surgical and AWC Business Units.

On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be using forecasting software to analyse data, liaising with our Business Development Managers, and presenting the information to various stakeholders across the business. We’re looking for someone with a high degree of analytical ability, who has strong knowledge around forecasting, and forecasting systems. Continuous improvement activities will also feature highly in this role as we optimist system settings and processes to improve the forecast metrics.

Key responsibilities
What will this role involve?

  • Flawless and timely execution of the monthly demand planning process.
  • Ensuring a robust statistical demand forecasting process by optimizing the use of the demand forecasting system and maintaining the data integrity of the demand history and demand forecast data in the system.
  • Collecting, processing, and incorporating demand forecast information (customer forecasts, market/customer intelligence, NPD product launch data) from different sources.
  • Facilitate monthly reviews with commercial leads to discuss, challenge and agree the consensus forecast
  • Creating an accurate unconstrained baseline demand forecast at customer/SKU level in a timely manner based on a statistical demand forecast enhanced with demand forecasting information received.
  • Statistically support the unconstrained baseline demand forecast and ensure acceptance from the BUD, sales and financial functions through collaboration and clear communication.
  • Generate a monthly volume analysis, and prepare and present information to support the monthly S&OP process.
  • Work with Operations Supply Chain across relevant sites to ensure the consensus demand forecast is accepted and used for the supply planning process, provide input and clarity on questions/issues raised on the consensus demand forecast.
  • Ensure demand forecast accuracy and other agreed demand forecasting KPI’s are calculated and reported on a monthly basis based on relevant forecast datasets.
  • Analyse demand forecast accuracy metrics in detail to gain understanding on underlying root cause for forecast errors and report to BUD, Sales and Operations Supply Chain.
  • Develop, propose and implement improvements to the demand planning process in all areas: optimizing the use of statistical forecasting models, collaborate with customers to improve the quality of customer forecast input, collaborating with sales to improve the sales forecast input, working with the Surgical R&D team to ensure demand from NPD projects is included and continuously improving the quality and the effectiveness of the demand. management meeting aiming at delivering an accurate consensus demand forecast.
  • Ensure detailed follow up with stakeholders to resolve demand forecast issues and implement agreed improvements.
  • Continuously collaborate with Operations Supply Chain to ensure the implemented demand planning process and system remains effective and is optimized.
  • Provide demand history and demand forecast data to different functions to support demand forecasting data analysis (customer/product/market demand trend analysis) and what if simulation as input to the BU/Operations Strategic Planning Process and yearly budget cycle.
  • Continuously analyse key customer ordering patterns, product sales trends and impact of product marketing plans in different sales area’s and provide feedback to the BU and sales aiming at improving understanding of customer/product/market demand trends leading to more accurate demand forecasting.
  • Support the BU/Sales providing data analysis to support customer review / supplier review meetings demonstrating customer/product demand trends and order patterns, availability and accuracy of customer forecast input. Attend customer meetings to provide expert input on demand data analysis.
  • Support the S&OP process attending S&OP meetings presenting the BU/Sales function and providing input on the demand forecasting review topic in the meeting.
  • Support BU meetings if required to provide input and clarify on demand forecasting related aspects.

What we’re looking for?

  • Forecasting software systems, and processes experience.
  • Experience in the delivery of a monthly consensus forecast.
  • Experience in the mechanics of sales and operations planning.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent skills in extracting and analyzing data and ability to understand and work with different systems supporting data analysis (databases, statistical forecasting system, ERP system, Microsoft Access/Excel)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and confident in presenting in meetings at different levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple functions.
