Prospectus is delighted to be working on behalf of Big Win Philanthropy to appoint their new Research Fellow. This role is offered as a permanent contract, full time office based. The Research Fellowship represents an incredible opportunity for an experienced researcher to advance their career in public service or international development.Big Win Philanthropy partners with visionary African governmental leaders to address some of the biggest human capital challenges their countries face. As an evidence-based, impact-focused organisation, research is critical to Big Win Philanthropy’s work. The new Research Fellow will support the Program Directors and governmental partners by providing top quality comparative research that will help shape programs, guide development strategies, and catalyse communities of practice. The post holder will conduct desktop reviews for country scoping missions, research and prepare briefings on partners, policies, demographics, and governance matters. The Research Fellow will help evaluate program proposals and concepts notes by researching assumptions and theories of change, as well as critically review existing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and performance management dashboards as part of Big Win’s investment process.

We are looking for a well organised research professional with strong data science background and graduate degree in international development, public health, econometrics, data science, or another field related to Big Win’s work. You will have demonstrated familiarity with and/or experience working in sub-Saharan Africa and substantive knowledge in a field related to international development or human capital development. You will have exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize comparative research clearly. Fluency in French and/or widely spoken African languages is a plus, but it is not essential.
