Salary: £37, to £40, per annum
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Contract Length: Fixed term contract until 31 March
Location: County Hall North, Horsham and programme delivery area (East Sussex, Brighton and Hove and West Sussex) Hybrid Working

West Sussex County Council needs you! We’re looking for a driven, energetic, and articulate individual to join the Changing Futures Programme.

As a System Change and Learning Coordinator, you will:

  • Report to the Changing Futures Programme Manager and accountable to the Changing Futures Steering Group.
  • Manage a team of engagement and co-production workers and have day to day responsibility for the development and delivery of the programme’s system change activity.
  • Demonstrate drive, humility, resilience, and the courage to take risks, challenge and innovate.
  • Develop a consistent methodology for mapping and thematising of system barriers and enablers and translating into tangible change projects.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders including those with lived experience of multiple disadvantages.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshop activity within the programme and to the wider partnership to articulate, strengthen, evolve, and mobilise the Programme’s system change vision and strategy.

  • Ability to mobilise a concerted effort amongst people working together in different organisation, different localities, and at different levels in the system, recognising that leadership is distributed.
  • Ability to implement and lead projects simultaneously across a range of locations, identifying enablers and dependencies to successful implementation and engaging with all key stakeholders necessary within tight timeframes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally across the programme and collaborate with others to find creative ways forward.
  • Knowledge of the policy and service context which underpins the programme and being comfortable working with complexity.
  • A relationship-based practice approach with the ability to translate complex concepts into tangible activity.
  • Ability to motivate others and drive strong performance within Changing Futures working groups, influence actions by others and negotiate effective business solutions.
  • An ability to thrive when working within ambiguity and uncertainty, and to hold the tension in these contexts when others may find them difficult.
  • Ability to challenge existing practices and advocate for new and innovative solutions within the required framework.
  • Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Systems Thinking or System Leadership training
  • Experience of leading change projects in organisational or multi-agency settings
  • Experience of leading, motivating and line managing staff
  • Experience of preparing reports which require strategic thought and detailed analysis
  • Experience of service user involvement and co-production activity.
  • Experience of delivering training; both face to face and online, and confident in utilising online platforms such as Teams, Zoom etc.
