Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join Blackburn and Darwen Council’s Children in our Care team. This is a full time role, offering £35 per hour.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Social work duties in child care, including children subject to Child in need plans/child looked after plans/child protection and care proceedings.
  • Assessment and planning in statutory child care.
  • Essential knowledge of current child care legislation and guidance.
  • An understanding of child development, including attachment theory.
  • Knowledge of the assessment framework.
  • Ability to: Relate theory to practice and Assess and Evaluate.
  • Communicate in writing to a high level (produce reports).
  • Communicate orally to a high level (present information clearly to service users/colleagues and other agencies.
  • You must have good communication skills and be a team worker with the ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
  • Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Driver
  • Experience:

  • Children
