The Department of Physics has a stimulating, inclusive, highly supportive and friendly environment. Its Learning, Teaching and Assessment strategy is to deliver high-quality, research-informed programmes of study that introduce students to the latest advances in physics, whilst also covering core physics concepts and developing the skills necessary to work in a variety of professional contexts. It aims to deliver this in a supportive manner that enhances student satisfaction and widening access. All taught programmes are accredited by the Institute of Physics.

In order to strengthen its teaching activities, the Department is now inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Senior Teaching Fellow to lead the delivery of its undergraduate and postgraduate taught degree programmes and to lead the teaching team under the direction of the Director of Teaching. You will be qualified to PhD level in physics (or have equivalent professional experience) and be able to design and deliver taught modules and student assessment activities in ways that enhance engagement. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be adept at communicating complex materials in an accessible manner and have proven experience managing teaching delivery.

The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in education and have the drive and enthusiasm to lead the development and delivery of teaching programmes that encourage diversity and enhance student experience.
