Children’s Residential Support Worker

Have you got experience supporting Children and Young People in residential homes? Are you looking for temporary work that gives you the option to work within different locations and the flexibility and the ability to be able to choose when and where you work? If so we are recruiting for experienced Children’s residential workers to support children and young people who have challenging behaviours and complex needs working in various various residential settings in South Wales

Shift patterns vary from days, long days with sleep in’s , waking nights and ongoing contracts. We have a large number of existing and new clients who require experienced and committed candidates to support their current recruitment needs. It is imperative that you are a driver as many of the homes are in rural locations.

The role of Children’s support worker will involve:

  • Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
  • To ensure the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhere to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.
  • To ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift and Managers.
  • To maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Randstad and Ofsted.
  • To contribute to the educational and social development of each young person
  • To meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximise opportunities for their development.
  • Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation.
  • What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a children home setting (highly desirable)
  • Passion to help nurture young people
  • Flexibility to work 24 to 48 hour shift patterns (including sleep-in) – rota given in advance.
  • Full, UK driving licence (highly desirable)
