The main purpose of the role is to assist the UECS finance team in preparing the management accounts each month by providing financial and administrative support in various tasks supporting the breadth of UECS business operations.

What will you be doing?

The main duties of the post include, but are not limited to:

  • Recording, updating, and maintaining all financial data assisting Finance Managers.
  • Assisting the team in their work to record and reconcile finance records.
  • Supporting the UECS Finance Managers in providing reporting (including month end accounts).
  • Ensuring purchases are approved and processed correctly.
  • Responding to enquiries from the directorate and the wider University.
  • Carry out ad-hoc administrative tasks or projects.

    Qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent 4 GCSEs including maths and English (Grade 9-4/A*-C) Essential

    What training will you take and what qualification will you get at the end?

  • The Apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard for a duration of 24 months.
  • College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute – Colchester Campus one day per week during term time.
