Hybrid Working , 2 days in the London office (Canary Wharf)

  • About the team:
    The WaterAid Global People & Organisational Development team (The People Team) plays a critical role in helping WaterAid realise its goals. We lead on the development of strategies that ensure that WaterAid’s people are aligned and engaged with our aims and objectives, and that they have the skills and opportunities to maximise the impact they can make. We are excited to increase the size and scope of the Global People Team to ensure that we are resourced effectively to enable the organisation to shift to and realise our new global strategy.

    About the role:
    The People Team have an exciting opportunity for two motivated and experienced People Business Partners to work in a supportive culture that values collaboration, diversity and courage. Among your many challenges, you will be key in supporting the newly launched global strategy by supporting managers to bring the best out of their teams. Coaching and guiding managers to embed a culture of high-performance is crucial to enrich management capabilities, whilst providing the perfect balance of support and challenge. Drawing on your expertise, you’ll support on change management, including restructures, to ensure changes are sensitively implemented. You will support managers to get the best out of their people, collaborate closely with key stakeholders to solve recruitment and resourcing challenges, whilst drawing on your experience of successful workforce planning. You will provide pragmatic solutions to HR challenges by working collaboratively with managers and key stakeholders across The Global People Team.

    You’ll be instrumental in how we take forward our new People Business Partnering team structure and will thrive in showcasing great people management best practice. With our new global strategy recently being launched and growth in the People Team, it’s an exciting time to join WaterAid.

    About you:
    As our People Business Partner, you will work across the Global People Team to provide a customer centric HR Business Partnering service across all areas of the employee lifecycle to managers and employees. You have emotional intelligence and can navigate ambiguity. You can work with autonomy, are comfortable working at pace and have a real sense of tenacity about delivering results. You have recent experience of supporting managers with recruitment and change management and have built credibility through providing pragmatic HR solutions. You’ll be an ambassador for our new global strategy and act as a key advocator for our transition to hybrid working. You are someone who can demonstrate a successful track record of advising and leading on a range of people & ER related matters, a confident influencer / coach who is able to build strong relationships in both singular and group settings. You’re experienced at facilitating and understand that principles of what good diversity and inclusion practices are.

    To be successful, you’ll need:
    * Experience of working in a busy HR team at a similar level, supporting in multiple activities and dealing with a wide variety of internal / external customers.
    * Experience in providing an effective, flexible and pragmatic Business Partnering service.
    * Resilience, pragmatic and resourceful solutions to existing and upcoming challenges.
    * A good understanding and proactive solutions to sensitive employee relations issues.
    * A practical understanding of UK employment law and how it affects HR practice and general awareness of HR best practice.
    * Capable to work in a fast-paced matrix environment and keep calm under pressure and during periods of change.
    * Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships at all levels.
    * A CIPD Associate or higher qualification, or equivalent experience.
