    We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to train as an Apprentice towards a nationally recognised qualification in Pharmaceutical Science with allocated time for study whilst training. The post offers excellent future career opportunities.

    Milton Keynes Hospital opened in1984 and became a University Hospital in April 2015. We have around 450 beds and provide general hospital services for planned and emergency care for a population of approximately 300,000 people.

    You will be undertaking a 24 month apprenticeship Programme with Buttercups Training. You will receive protected learning time to undertake your studies and receive 1-1 support from your tutor as well the Apprenticeship Team at MKUH.

    We have recently restructured our working hours, meaning that standard hours are now four long days per week with weekends covered on a Rota basis.

    Main duties of the job

    You will be an essential member of the Pharmacy Team, working under the direction of registered Pharmacists, to provide pharmaceutical care for patients.

    The duties are varied. It is not simply counting tablets or picking a box off the shelf.

  • To be part of the Pharmacy team and work to enable the objectives of the department and the Trust to be achieved
  • To participate in high standards of practice as defined by the CQC, NHSLA and other relevant organisations for implementation across the Trust
