Job overview
To work within the Buckinghamshire Early Intervention Service within either the Assessment or the
Treatment function. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as a senior practitioner within the team.
To act as care coordinator within the Care Programme Approach, working with patients with particularly
complex needs. To deputise for AMHT manager and /or community lead when required.
Main duties of the job
We are able to offer this post as an acting up or secondment opportunity for internal Trust applicants or a Fixed Term contract for internal or external candidates. The post will be initially for 7 months with a possibility to extend.
Starting 1st September 2022 to cover maternity cover for the Assessment Function in Bucks Early Intervention Service.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist (OT), Social Worker (SW) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work as a Deputy Team Manager in the Bucks Early Intervention Service. The successful candidate will join the experienced and committed leadership team in providing dedicated clinical and managerial leadership to the team. There is a strong leadership team, incorporating both managers and Consultant Psychiatrists, which provides a dynamic and supportive environment from which to lead the wider team. The post holder will contribute to the day-to-day management and operational processes within the team to ensure the safe and effective management of patient care across our service. The post holder would hold a small caseload and support the Assessment function clinicians in triage and assessment. Working within the core interventions and waiting time standards.

The post holder will need the ability to demonstrate flexibility to meet competing demands whilst working under pressure. The role offers an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team to develop leadership skills, contribute to service development and service improvement. You will need to be highly skilled, hard-working, organised, be able to demonstrate excellent clinical practice, supervisory skills and experience of supporting junior team members. Experience of working in a community mental health setting is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will also be on the Duty Manager rota, which includes some evening and weekends or Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) rota if a qualified AMHP.
