Main duties of the job

 Job Summary/Job Purpose:

Demonstrates advanced specialist practice, undertaking holistic assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients throughout the pre-operative/immediate post-operative and PACU pathway. Responsible for the quality of care delivered within the clinical area, empowering and enabling the peri-operative/post-operative team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualification/ Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • NMC registered nurse / HCPC registered ODP
  • Specialist theoretical and practical knowledge relevant to area.
  • Knowledge of local policies/procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of national strategies related to sphere of nursing/midwifery and current professional nursing issues.
  • Mentoring/ Teaching & Assessing or 998 course or willing to complete
  • Desirable criteria

  • Degree in relevant clinical/professional subject.
  • Management qualification.
  • PALS/APLS
  • Knowledge of leadership and management theories.
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Significant post Registration experience.
  • Extensive experience in Theatre/Recovery/Critical Care
  • Management experience.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience of undertaking research work/audit work and standard setting.
