This is an exciting opportunity to join our Dietetic Health Promotion Team and for you shape prevention and early intervention programmes to address maternal and infant nutrition across Ayrshire. This is a key time in the lifespan to positively influence the health of our population and as such there are opportunities to build on our existing programmes and develop new initiatives.

You will be responsible for design, delivery and evaluation of collaborative programmes to address maternal nutrition as well as implementing key policies to practice to improve nutrition in the early years.

You will also be responsible for designing, delivery and evaluation of training, educational programmes and resources to build nutrition knowledge and skills of our partners.

You will join a busy team of dietitians, assistant practitioners and a support worker. You will be expected to support and supervise assistant practitioners. The team is based at North West Kilmarnock Area Centre but travel across Ayrshire and Arran may be required as part of this post.

You should possess a degree/postgraduate diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You should have experience of facilitating group work. Experience of health improvement work is desirable.

Evidence of CPD is essential as is evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should be able to work under your own initiative within the team structure.

The Department provides preregistration training to students and offers practice supervision.
