Specific Job Description [JP]

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) will be accountable for overall engineering technical, cost, and schedule performance on the assigned programme. The candidate will provide a single E&T interface with the programme offices/customers for all programmatic items, responsible for the identification and closure of technical issues.

The successful candidate will be experienced with common engineering practices and methodologies and will work with programme management to ensure organizational standard processes are tailored, approved and followed. The candidate will provide timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements (people, tools, processes, etc).

The candidate will be an experienced team leader, leading technical teams as needed to address specifically identified complex technical issues related to engineering products.

The candidate will interface with the engineering manager, Lead Engineers of all disciplines, programme management and customers.

Duties include:

· Ensures all programme engineering requirements are verified.

· Documents, tracks and maintains the requirements baseline.

· Identifies engineering scope and produces estimates to deliver it.

· Manages cost and schedule throughout project execution to deployment.

· Manages risks and opportunities.

· Analyses defect scope and attends Defect Review Board.

· Gathers inputs for resource and schedule planning.

· Leverages lessons learned and best practices.

· Communicates with suppliers and customer stakeholders.

· Produces metrics to report project status upwards.

· Liaises with EPMs on other programmes in order to negotiate use of staff.

Required skills, qualifications and experience [JP]

In order to be successful you must have:

· An understanding of modern Engineering methodologies and processes.

· Engineering background on a variety of programmes.

· Proven track record on software intensive programmes.

· Proven track record in technical team leadership.

· Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

· Ability to provide quality support across the range of disciplines, and possessing a ‘can-do’ attitude.

· Work to create an environment of trust, diversity and ethical standards as laid down by the company.

· Strong self-awareness and a capacity to reflect on own practice and to learn from mistakes.

Desired skills, qualifications and experience [JP]

It will be highly beneficial if you have experience in:

· Multiple Engineering disciplines.

· Enterprise Architect / Artisan (PTC Modeller).

· HP Quality Centre.

· Jira.

· Interfacing with customers.
