Main duties of the job

The role will involve acting as gatekeeper for the range of programmes, supporting the alignment to the strategic portfolios and agreeing with the Transformation & Improvement Office Senior Manager the processes required.

The post holder will have a project management background and will need to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring the development of the programme remains aligned to local, regional, and national priorities. They will report directly to the Transformation & Improvement Office Senior Manager and act as a competent resource to support the successful delivery of the transformational agenda.

The post holder will be a professional manager, working across the organisation and in conjunction with Service Improvement, Value Based Health Care, Care Pathways and Transformation Analytics to collaboratively drive the programmes to successful outcomes.

Critical to this role will be the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across BCUHB with managerial and clinical staff, demonstrating significant knowledge, experience and skills in the management of programmes and projects. The post holder will have strong organisation and communication skills, to have an impact on peers and gain confidence of clinical and professional leaders.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to Post Graduate diploma level / equivalent level of work experience and knowledge
  • ILM Management level 4, or equivalent qualification/ level of work experience and knowledge.
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince 2 or equivalent project management experience.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Advanced IT training e.g. Power BI, MS office.
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Experience in developing innovative IT solutions for systems and processes.
  • Experience in managing human resource issues and dealing with difficult situations.
  • Experience of implementing Service Improvement.
