We are currently recruiting for an experienced specifications writer to join one of the World’s leading FMCG organisations. This is a pivotal role supporting the Research & Development department for a specific specifications project. The role is based in our company site in Leicester, LE4 with flexible working available.
This is a one year temporary position. It is a full-time role working 37.5hrs per week with a basic salary between £35, – £40, depending on experience.
The main purpose of the role is to be a receipe specification expert and support the core business through best practice consult with interaction with internal R&D functions including but not limited to quality, regulatory, food safety.

Duties:
Key activities:
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Recipe specifications across WE Foods.
Manages WE recipe specifications build and ensures compliance with applicable internal and external procedure updates and audit requirements. Ensures full approval by all functions.
Consult and collaborate with both internal functions and global design owners to align on best practice.
To gather and collate data from different sources and functions across the business.
Ability to identify trends, troubleshoot discrepancies and action accordingly.
The job holder is expected to autonomously operate and contribute to the wider business success as an SME owner whilst maintaining an high level of confidentiality and integrity.
Build and roll out best practices to enable specification creation via improved knowledge and expertise for the wider WE innovation team. Proactively identify efficiency’s and collaborate to leverage.
Deep technical understanding where needed will be provided through primacy consult.
Technical understanding of how ING’s are converted into finished products and building recipes with mass balance requirements.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 to 5 years’ previous experience in Product Development Food Manufacturing and Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment preferred
Understanding/appreciation of the broader internal and external business environment.
Understanding of specification & technical documentation management
Strong experience of recipe building.
Advanced Mathematical and Excel Skills , with experience of mass balance.
Analyses complex problems to find actionable pragmatic solutions and constructive action plans.
Delivers against the right priorities & actively supports & take action to drive a common goal across work &/or project teams, asking questions to realign when appropriate.
Interpersonal skills with ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to drive for results at a more senior level within R&D
Experience of sharing good practices with colleagues.
