Main duties of the job
Senior Recovery Practitioner Band 6
To provide senior clinical expertise and be a professional role model with the ability to confidently lead a theatre/recovery team in the absence of a Team Leader, in the provision of high quality service and to demonstrate clinical expertise by giving direct post-operative care .
Take responsibility for the preparation and implementation of staff duty rota/worklists, annual leave rota, ensuring the allocation/skill mix of staff is made in accordance to the competencies and workload requirements in order to meet the specialist needs of the unit.
Provide preceptorship, mentorship, education, training and clinical supervision, and in collaboration with Practice Development Nurse and Team Leader plan appropriate development packages for staff to address their individual needs, advising the Team Leader of poor performance issues.
Responsible for the management of risk by effective assessment, taking actions to minimise risk. Respond and manage effectively any hazard which may pose a risk or adversely affect the health and safety of staff, patients and visitors e.g. faulty equipment, dangerous situations, inappropriate clinical practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
