In this post, you will be vital to ensuring high quality patient journeys across all inpatient departments, where you will be instrumental in promoting high standards of clinical care, workforce retention and recruitment, staff education and development, compassionate and inclusive leadership, patient safety and service improvement to the wider Operations service.

The Lead Professional of Operations takes the lead and co-ordinates collections of governance reports and information on behalf of the Director of Operations.

Main duties of the job

We aspire to be the beacon for great Operational services, so you will need to provide key assurances, via demonstrable evidence, that the organisation is delivering safe care and supports and develops staff to fulfil their roles. A key aspect of this post is to also provide clinical advice and guidance to the Operations team as part of the wider Operational agenda and equally in the day to day site maintenance.

One of the more visible way in which you will demonstrate your leadership ability will be by participating in the daily chairing of the Bed meetings, essential meeting which are held periodically though out the day to ensure transparency of plans that focus on maintaining flow throughout the Hospital. 

Collaborating with all services within Operations to produce monthly Governance reports on behalf of the Director of Operations. This includes Outpatients, Patient access and emergency planning.

As part of this role there is an expectation to be a participant on the Senior nurse rota, which includes weekends and evenings.
