Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be an integral member of the corporate Governance team with designated responsibility for an acute Directorate. The Governance Facilitator will support concerns and risk management, clinical assurance, incident investigation and associated learning.

They will have specialist clinical governance oversight and contribute to the Health Board wide clinical governance agenda, ensuring consistency of high standards across processes. The role involves supporting clinical teams and services with quality improvement ensuring robust mechanisms are in place for learning across teams and the Health Board.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven relevant practical knowledge and experience of a high level and an excellent understanding of serious incident investigations with an innovative, adaptable and patient-focused approach.

Please note that we will only accept applications from staff currently employed by betsi cadwaladr university health board. 

This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Daily review of incidents, investigation and follow up
  • Provide support to relevant clinical governance committees
  • Provide timely information for directorate meetings
  • Undertake root cause analysis timelines and support the investigation of serious and moderate incidents.
  • Provide training, support and advice on quality issues, patient safety, clinical governance and risk management
  • Complete presentations and report writing
  • Deputise for the Head of quality and governance
