Group Transformation is a newly established team within Provident Financial Group to deliver substantial change across the organisation. It’s role is to lead the development of the activity required to meet the strategic objective of the Group. What’s the opportunity?
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our growing Group Transformation team.

As a Senior Business Analyst you will help to apply strategic level thinking in line with our goals. Helping to plan for the future by working on large programmes or complex projects, by undertaking analysis, documenting and managing business requirements throughout the discovery and delivery lifecycle ensuring traceability of benefits and outcomes through agreed requirements to delivery of new processes and/or system solutions.

Key responsibilities of a Senior Business Analyst?

  • Discover, analyse and understand the true business need and determine the business objective, aligning business initiatives with strategic plans to focus investment
  • Establish in depth understanding of the reasons to progress a particular change, and the impacts including critical success factors
  • Review and analyse existing business documentation, processes, tasks and workflow information
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys and site visits with stakeholders, projects teams and relevant business areas to elicit requirements (Business, functional and non-functional)
  • Perform gap analysis using ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process modelling to determine requirements
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from different sources to reconcile any conflicts and work with Stakeholders to achieve resolution
  • Support the development of the plan and prioritise objectives/deliverables
  • Contribute to the creation of project RAID logs

What will it take to be a successful Senior Business Analyst?

  • Must have proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex projects / programmes of work
  • To have an in-depth understanding of the project management lifecycle and the role of a Senior BA within this including BA activities and approach within a well governed environment
  • Extensive experience of working within complex change environments using Business Analysis frameworks, business processes management, business requirement.
  • Experience of different delivery methodologies including Prince2 and / or Agile / Scrum and able to adapt your analysis accordingly.
  • Ability to diagnose complex problems and their root causes
  • Highly proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications as well as proficiency in the use of MS VISIO (or similar software) to undertake analysis modelling
  • Experience of different delivery methodologies including Prince2 and / or Agile / Scrum and able to adapt your analysis accordingly.
