What is the Role?

As Senior Security Architect, you will have responsibility for developing, documenting and maintaining security models, patterns, and principles that are used to design information security into solutions.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

– Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Group information security strategy.

– Researching, designing and advocating new technologies, architectures and security products to support all­­ security requirements.

– Developing and maintaining business information and technical artefacts that constitute the enterprise information security architecture and solutions.

– Working closely with enterprise architects, other functional area architects and security specialists to define appropriate security controls to be designed into IT systems and platforms.

– Acting as a security expert in application development, database design, network and/or platform (operating system) efforts offering advice to project teams on how to comply with enterprise and IT security policies, industry regulations and best practices.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

– A degree in computer science, information systems or other related field.

– In-depth knowledge and understanding of information security concepts and principles as well as expert knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across a wide variety of cloud and computer platforms.

– Good understanding of risks and threats to UK energy sector, control systems, smart grid and metering, network, consumer technologies and customer data.

– Ability to analyse high level architectures and derive security controls related to business security needs.

– Strong conceptual thinking and communication skills with the ability to conceptualise complex business and technical requirements into comprehensible models and templates.
