The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

    College Central is a countywide Pupil Referral Unit with multiple sites across East Sussex. It provides education to young people who have been, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school and may display difficult and challenging behaviours. College Central – Hastings is seeking to recruit a Deputy Head of Centre. 

    As the Deputy Head of centre, you will support the Head of Centre for Hastings with responsibility for strategic direction and development of student engagement and attendance, with rigorous attention to how this translates to aspirational outcomes for all students. As the Deputy Head of Centre, you will have input into curriculum development and implementation. This will include empowering staff in their delivery of high quality teaching and learning and preparing pupils for eventual progression post 16 or reintegration pre-16 into mainstream settings.

While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential. We will provide you with high quality training and support.
