Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations – Managing absence, disciplinary, grievances, sickness, annual leave etc
  • Performance Management – Ownership of the company appraisal system, coaching managers on performance management issues and processes
  • Training – Implementing the training and development agenda, identifying areas that need attention and improvement
  • Recruitment and retention – managing talent and succession planning; taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity
  • Policy & Procedures – implementation of new HR policies, procedures and processes. Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law. Ensure all managers are up to date with changes to any policies
  • Lead Employee experience agenda – Identify and implement improvements to areas such benefits offer (pay and non-pay), company culture, company communication, working practices, approach to diversity and inclusion, employee wellbeing
  • Senior Team contribution – Attend and contribute to monthly senior team meetings, driving company objectives and strategy, coaching senior team on people challenges/opportunities
  • CSR – Lead the company’s strategy on corporate and social responsibility including how the company can reduce its carbon footprint and use of plastics.
  • Ad hoc advisory support to another UK subsidiary, including initial HR risk assessment.

The Successful Applicant

As the Head of HR you will:

Ideally be CIPD qualified to level 7 or equivalent.

Excellent Employment law and HR practice knowledge

Have previous experience working within a FMCG/Manufacturing environment

Strong ER knowledge

Change Management

Excellent Stakeholder Management
