Main duties of the job

A new and exciting opportunity for an apprentice post with the Mental Health and Learning Disability team. You will assist in the provision of a comprehensive, high quality administration service. This will include all aspects of administration duties. The post holder will work in a challenging environment that undergoes constant changes and will need to exercise judgement and use a combination of skills to deal with day-to-day issues. You will be expected to demonstrate a sensitive and caring attitude that is client focused and maintain a calm and organised approach when working under pressure. You will be supported to achieve qualifications in line with the post requirements during the apprenticeship. This is a fixed term post for 2 years paid at the apprentice rate of £4.15 per hour in year 1 rising to national minimum wage for your age in year 2. This is an excellent opportunity if you feel you demonstrate the skills listed and would like to start your career in the NHS as an apprentice.

This post is fixed term for 2 years apprenticeship.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Good standard of general education/GCSE in English and Mathematics

  • Working towards or willing to undertake IT or customer service qualifications.
  • General understanding of the Mental Health & LD Directorate functions and the Mental Health Act
