Up to £40-47,000 plus a generous benefits package

About the Role:

This is a rare and unique opportunity for a Senior Oncology/Haematology Nurse who is looking to take a more operational pathway into looking after only a handful of patients at any one time and supporting them on their journey to the UK to receive some of the best healthcare available in the world.

It’s difficult to depict an average day within the Concierge team as no two days are alike. An international call or referral from the NHS or a GP can come at any moment. Many of the transfers are technically challenging with various obstacles to overcome.

You will get to work with the most amazing colleagues, dealing with a variety of situations as the Concierge service provides a single point of contact, where all healthcare medical needs can be addressed and navigated no matter how complex or difficult (including ICU to ICU transfers from all over the world and complex oncology and haematology patients).

The organisation has supported patients from over 47 countries, including eight red list countries, whilst abiding by government regulations. The team operate a 24/7, 365 days a year clinically nurse-led service with access to all UK sites.

This is an extremely interesting and rewarding role and sees the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and dynamic team, ready to engage in any eventuality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Always demonstrates competent clinical practice, is accountable for own actions and acts as a role model
  • Can appropriately provide initial assessments, plan, implement and evaluate the care they provide
  • Liaise with local Embassy’s to help with transportation of patients travelling from foreign countries – including welcome and transport from airports when arriving in the UK
  • Ensures that they and others respect the principles of patient privacy, dignity, autonomy and confidentiality
  • Provides patients, families and carers with expert, unbiased information regarding the causes, care and management of their condition
  • Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, without supervision, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Prioritises own and others workload and directs staff accordingly
  • Deputises for the nurse manager, providing management and leadership in his or her absence
  • Promotes team working to maximise effectiveness of service provision
  • Skills & Experience:

  • NMC Registered Adult registration.
  • Significant post graduate experience.
  • Oncology – Haematology Nursing experience
  • Suitable for equivalent of CNS Level
  • Advanced clinical assessment qualification desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and co-ordination skills
  • Similar assessment or previous navigation experience advantageous
  • Second language desirable
