Main duties of the job

You should have experience in joinery work and/or bricklaying, plastering, roof repairs and general building duties and must be able to work on own initiative.

You should have completed a formal craft apprenticeship in a Building discipline and preferably have attained an academic qualification to NVQ Level 3 / Higher National Certificate.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Indentured Building Craft Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3
  • Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of Continued Personal Development
  • Wood machining safety certificate
  • Advanced Module Certificate in fire door repair and maintenance
  • Advanced building craft certificate or equivalent
  • NHC/HND or equivalent level of knowledge and/or experience
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Significant experience of working within a multi-skilled building service industry with more than one area of craft discipline
  • Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience if working within the NHS
  • Multi-disciplinary experience across a range of building trades.
  • Completion of a structured training programme in building services
  • Experience of working with woodworking machinery (bench saws, planers etc)

  • Ability to work unsupervised
