Job overview

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Are you a graduate Occupational Therapist, looking for an opportunity to develop your skills in a rotational post?

Are you HCPC registered, or will you be imminently?

Do you want to play a key role in improving the experience of our patients?

The graduate rotational scheme in Scarborough offers the chance to have varied clinical experiences in front door, acute inpatient and rehabilitation settings. We have enthusiastic and experienced clinical teams who will support your post graduate development at a pace to suit your needs.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is beneficial for this vacancy.

We are always happy to give an overview of our service and team. Also with the relaxation in COVID restrictions we are happy for people to visit the hospital site and have an informal chat; although we cannot support shadowing opportunities on the wards.

We can also support qualified OT’s pre HCPC registration at a Band 4, and those who have completed their degree course but not had confirmation of their outcome at a Band 3 until they gain their OT qualification. This can help the induction and orientation process into the teams, so you are in the best place to move into being a more autonomous practitioner.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the team across the hospital, allowing our patients to benefit from a strong and vibrant multi-disciplinary team approach where patients come first in all we do. As a role model, you will influence further developments in Occupational Therapy across the hospital, acting as a liaison point, and contributing to the development of health and wellbeing across the organisation.

This exciting role will enable you to develop extensive skills in clinical areas, leadership and people management within the NHS environment, whilst receiving excellent support for both your personal and professional development. We offer and support both in-house clinical and professional training.

We offer rotations of a 6 month duration in a structured manner, to ensure you will get an opportunity to experience clinical practice in all key areas of work.

We will accept applications from qualified staff, and any students who will graduate and be eligible for HCPC registration.
