Case Owner

We are currently recruiting for two Case Owners to join Devon & Cornwall Police in Exeter until the end of March . The main responsibility of these roles is to support the delivery of an effective Criminal Justice system by ensuring prosecution files are complete.

Your duties will include:

  • Completing administrative checks on the contents of case files received from the Officer in charge – ensuring completeness to Force policy and CPS requirements

  • Requesting and gathering information from a variety of sources

  • Correctly inputting, maintaining and monitoring data on the Police database in a timely manner

  • Effectively communicate via telephone or electronic means all tasks and information allocated to or received from the OIC or Police personnel, CPS and other agencies

  • Supporting colleagues and new staff, by providing instruction and guidance and advice where necessary

    • Requirements:

  • A basic understanding of the criminal justice system

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbally and written

  • Emotional resilience – you will be dealing with difficult information on crime files

  • Excellent administration skills
