In particular, a crucial task of these posts will be to deliver CFI’s new MPhil in the Ethics of AI, Data and Algorithms. This is the world’s first full-time Masters course in AI Ethics . The post holders will be responsible for developing its curriculum and delivering the majority of the teaching, and coordinating marking, supervising and other aspects of the course, together with CFI’s Postgraduate Administrator and CFI’s Director. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to CFI’s other educational programmes, as required.

Appointees will be expected to engage in research of international standing and significance on topics related to the ethics of AI, data and algorithms. They will also be expected to pursue external funding to support a programme of research in their fields. The post holders will be expected also to contribute to the successful running and development of CFI in the short and long term.

The successful candidates will be based at CFI. Contingent on their specialist research areas and home disciplines, they will also have a reporting line to one of the University’s other Faculties or Departments.
